The best diet tricks are just that, tricks. It puts too much pressure on the dieter to perform their tricks. Everyone who diets know what dieting does to the body. It also has repercussions to the soul and spirit. Overeating can produce feelings of guilt, powerlessness, and shame. These are not compatible with the Christian life. In fact, they are just the opposite. A believer is under no condemnation regardless of the dieting. They are not powerless but powerful. And there is no shame in slipping up on a diet. A diet is not eternal. A diet is to help the earthly body respond better to its environment. A diet is your choice and though it will help your health immensely, it is not the end of all things. The ideal diet is easy, effortless, and efficient. Don’t make the diet the root of all your problems in life. Losing weight is a cooperative effort between you and God. That makes it a whole lot easier.
