Well, I finally reached my first goal of 200 pounds. That’s 47 pounds down. I think that is a successful weight loss phase. My next level goal is another 20 pounds. If I can reach that, I will complete the weight loss phase of my journey. What have I learned along the way? That’s a good question. I’m glad you asked. Dieting is hard. It’s still hard even after 47 pounds. The next 20 pounds will be hard. One thing I have observed is that the closer you get to your goal, the slower the weight comes off. It’s funny when you think you really worked hard one particular day, such as walked a total of six miles, and the next morning the scale hasn’t moved. That’s when you say, I’m in this for the long haul, and it seems it’s longer than I’d hoped for. Also, I have observed I can eat proper all day each day but there will be times I wish I could find something to eat. Charlene had some brownies on the counter and I pretended I was going for one. I almost got whacked. I just keep relying on God’s grace to carry me through the ‘mean times’.
