As usual this is the Saturday posting of my weight. I normally discuss some aspect of weighing or something else about the weight loss journey. This month, the daily blogs have been about choosing the diet. My daily blogs are short so you can easily read on your smartphone in just a few minutes. So it’s easy to get a thought about dieting and you can at least react to it in your daily thinking times.
I got this quote from SparkPeople. There was an article entitled “7 Times the Scale is Lying to You.” This quote is from a comment to that article.
“If seeing the number on the scale messes with our mind, it’s our attitude that needs adjustment. If our mood is severely affected by any number in our lives (waist size, pants size, checkbook balance), or even thoughtless comments by others, it’s our reaction to those things that we must work on.”
I think this person understands that all kinds of possible negative things can come at you when dieting. It’s how you look at these problems. It is how you react to these negative events that effects your dieting success. If the scale messes with your mind, then make mental adjustments. The scale is a tool, just like a hammer is a tool. If you think the tool is lying, then make the needed adjustments in your thinking. By the way, the scale never lies. It always tells you what your weight is at the moment you weigh.
