Today is weigh-in day. After 3 weeks on the road, eating out, and trying to stick to the plan, I was up three pounds. Charlene was down a half pound. My weight came on the last week when I strayed from The Plan more. But it’s temporary weight. So over all we did well on a long trip.
Now we have to get back in the routine of eating and exercising. Traveling will definitely throw off the routine. We had our smoothie every morning. We took our Magic Bullet to prepare our smoothies in motel rooms that had no available blenders. We carried our Almond milk, strawberries, flaxseed, and Greek yogurt in a cooler with ice. Most motels had refrigerators and ice so we could replenish for the hot trip during the day. It worked well. We bought more supplies in Arizona and California. It just involves planning and preparation.
We rented a Avis Ford Escape for the trip. We started with a new one with all the bells and whistles. While in California we received a call from Avis that our Ford Escape was recalled and we needed to turn it in as soon as possible. So we went to the Ontario airport and exchanged it. We then got a little older Ford Escape without any bells and whistles. But we had a car with no potential problems and we were able to exchange it there with no problems. It was still comfortable.
We have several weeks until our next trip in July to Daytona Beach. So we will be working on getting the weight off and setting new goals. I have five-pound goals. I’ve met several and will continue to meet more on my weight loss journey. By and through grace will I lose.
