I’ve talked lots about the scale and how important I think it is for weight loss. I did run across a thought how it might be an idol to some. I know there are a few dieters who might set their day by what they weigh but again, the scale is just a tool. If you worship the scale like an idol ,putting it before God, then do away with it. If you have to weigh yourself five times a day, then do away with it. It has no power over you. You stand on it. It doesn’t stand on you. It just measures the gravitational pull your body has on the earth. If you are on a weight loss journey then it is good advice to check your progress. If the scale scares you, then do away with it. Measure your progress by the belt holes you pass up while tightening it. Don’t bow down to it. Don’t treat it like is it anything but what it is—a tool to help you along the journey.
