We have a higher purpose here on earth then simply existing and in our case dieting. “…everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made” (Isaiah 43:7). We are created for and to God’s glory. We are designed to shine forth His design and cause others to point to Him as the Creator. We are all uniquely made. We all have different fingerprints, different DNA, different eye prints. Everyone is also a product of different experiences, different beliefs, different culture, and different styles. So everyone will have a different reason for being overweight. They will have had different experiences with dieting, both success and failure. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. All this is to God’s glory displaying His infinite design and variety. Though we might be on the same diet as another, our path to fat freedom will be different. That’s why we need to treat each other with grace, allowing for differences, diversity if you will. One may not eat bread and another may. We need to just shine in our endeavors, even dieting, so others might see the glory of the Lord in all that we do.
