We started looking at this verse of scripture regarding our dieting: “Everything is permitted me, but not everything is beneficial. Although everything is allowed me, I will not be mastered by anything.” Most of us who have been dieting for years know what foods are beneficial and which will hurt our diet progress. If you do a Google search for “beneficial foods” you will get 71,700,000 hits. If I restrict it to just both those words “beneficial foods”, I get 92,200 hits. You can find many articles about what constitutes beneficial foods. So none of us need to eat food on our diet that is not helpful to our success. But can’t I just have a treat once in a while? You are free to eat anything you want. But with that said, if you have made a true commitment to losing that fat, then stick to the diet plan 100%. My experience with treats or cheats is that they just lead you off the path of success and into the dismal swamp of failure. We don’t need that detour.
