It’s interesting to note that experts say that it takes about twenty minutes for our brain to register how full we are. The possible outcome is that you will continue eating for twenty minutes beyond feeling full. Many dieters have families and they prepare the food and place it in bowls on the table. They pass it around and everyone takes some. Here is where the dieter has to resist the temptation to take seconds. First, the dieter may or may not eat the same thing they fix the family. The dieter needs to take their proper portion out before they put it on the table and never take any extra. We don’t have family who eat with us and we are both eating the same thing. Charlene puts what portions we can eat on the plate and brings that to the table. We never have extra so we never overeat. However you eat, only put on your plate what your diet says to eat. That way you don’t have to concern yourself with the 20-minute rule. Enjoy what you get to eat. Remember, it isn’t what you don’t get to eat but what you do get to eat.
