When Jesus said, take no thought about what you eat or drink, He didn’t mean you shouldn’t think about what you will have for dinner tonight. He wasn’t suggesting you put all your meals in plastic containers and put them in the refrigerator and when it comes time to eat, reach in a grab something without thinking about it. Although that is one way of dieting and might work for some, dieting does require some thought about what you are going to fix. What Jesus was talking about is being anxious about whether you will have anything to eat or not. Trust the Lord for your daily bread, but you still have to fix it. Losing weight is mostly about what you eat. Light exercise is okay such as walking but heavy lifting impedes weight loss. Once you get to your weight goal, then you can increase your exercise activity. That may seem wrong when you see so many exercise gyms around. Walk, either to videos, on treadmill or getting out and enjoying the outdoors with all its weather and bugs. It’s all good.
