We are continuing our discussion about choosing the right weight-loss diet. We are looking at the number one requirement, that we can lose weight while on the diet. If you do an internet search on the best weight-loss diet, you are going to get all kinds of information.
The problem is that they combine so many other factors besides the actual ability to lose weight it becomes what is the best diet. Those who decide have their own factors for choosing.
For example, The Dash Diet has been rated number one by several reviewers. It started out as a blood pressure diet. It is basically a government diet and its standards are the government standards. It then is more a medical diet than a weight loss diet. In fact, it doesn’t rate that well as a weight-loss diet. Their caveat to weight loss is just be sure you have a calorie deficit. I’m not even sure that it’s the best diet for high blood pressure. Just losing weight is good for high blood pressure.
So any diet that is designed with fewer calories each day than you use, or in other words you end the day with a deficit could be considered weight loss.
