Not everything has calories. The other day we were on our morning walk and when we came close to our turning around point, we smelled the scent of donuts. Dunkin Donuts is not too far away so we were smelling them cooking their donuts. The smell of donuts took me back to the good times when I had donuts. My first recollection of donuts was when I was in elementary school and had a paper route. I delivered the Oregon Journal in Ashland, Oregon, and we got our papers at the Varsity Theater at 5 a.m. rain or shine, snow or sleet. I would fold my papers and then head out, passing a donut shop where there were making their donuts. I found out I could come in the back door and buy day old donuts for a nickel. That’s when I fell in love with donuts. I like the glazed donuts that Krispy Kreme has. Charlene likes cake donuts. I like cinnamon rolls and apple fritters. They have a delicious apple fritter in Ellijay. Well, donuts are not on my plan and eventually I might get a donut but for now the smell of donuts has no calories.
