“Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34 NKJV). There is physical food and there is spiritual food. As I have often said, dieting is as much spiritual as it is physical. In fact, it is difficult to separate the two. Jesus had come to the well of Sychar after a long journey. His disciples went on into the city to buy some food. A woman came to the well and Jesus had a nice chat with her, resulting in her rushing to the city to tell the people about Him. When the disciples came back, Jesus looked refreshed. The disciples urged Him to eat, but He said, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” The disciples immediately asked if someone brought Jesus something to eat. Jesus finally had to say that His food was doing the will of God. You may spend your days concentrating on your dieting, but don’t forget about the spiritual food of doing the Word of God and finding a filling feast.
