Most of us have had diet problems with certain foods. Some people just have to have their Coca Cola. I knew one person who had to have their Dr. Pepper every day. “Everything is permitted me, but not everything is beneficial. Although everything is allowed me, I will not be mastered by anything.” Even though all foods are allowed on a grace diet, some foods will just latch on you and won’t let go. With one person it was bread. He couldn’t just eat a roll or a slice, he needed more. Many have to have their cup of coffee every day. They go into withdrawals if they don’t get it. Course that’s what caffeine can do to you. We used to buy Trader Joe’s semi sweet chocolates. They look like tiny Hersey kisses. We would get bags of them every week. We enjoyed them but we were getting mastered by them. We were slaves to them. We don’t eat them anymore. Are you mastered by any foods? Do you just have to have a particular food or drink? You have to break off that bad relationship. Be like Paul and not be mastered by anything. Wait! I need my ice cream. Not.
