I watched a portion of Dr. Oz when he had on some ladies who had lost half their body weight. One was 381 pounds – Rebecca who lost 219 pounds. Jessica who weighed 362 lost 190. And Chelsea was 250 and lost 100. These were all amazing losses.
Some things I took away from hearing these ladies share. None of them went on any particular diet. They began by cutting back, then replacing healthy food for not so healthy food. They just stuck with it. Chelsea augmented her diet with running. She was able to finally run a marathon. The others did more moderate exercise. One—Rebecca is now a coach for BeachBody. Another thing I heard was that they were more proud of keeping the weight off than losing it in the first place. They all struggle with maintaining. Jessica travels a lot so has many struggles with eating. She uses shakes whenever possible that easily mix while on the run.
I like success stories. It encourages us all that it’s possible. All things are possible through Christ who gives us the strength to do it, even lose weight.
