Yesterday I said there was hope for the dieter. Jesus says how that is. “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” (Matthew 11:29). Your soul is your emotions, will, and intellect. Jesus covers it all here in this verse. First is to yoke up with Him. In the time of Jesus, it meant two things. It showed the picture of two oxen yoked together to do the heavy work of plowing and hauling. It also meant for a student to submit to the teaching of someone who was more knowledgeable. Both of these apply here and to our dieting.
