Hurray, it’s July 4th. This is one of my favorite holidays and can be a dieter’s challenge. This day gives you yet one more chance to meet the challenge head on and overcome. Go ahead and have some BBQ, but don’t eat it all yourself. No, you don’t get to use the excuse it’s a holiday. There is no holiday in weight loss. What I have observed in my life of weight loss is that when I go off for even a day of bingeing, it takes several days to get back on track.
It’s like climbing a slippery slope. One slip and down you go. I say all this without condemnation. Don’t take guilt or condemnation in anything even dieting. I know from experience that there are certain triggers that might slow down the weight loss process. Special occasions are one of those times we dieters have to be on guard. Enjoy but don’t overdo it. Live life within the boundaries of wisdom.
