Happy New Year! The year 2015 has arrived. How did you do in your weight loss journey this last year? Whether it was good or bad today is a new beginning. It seemed like yesterday we fretted about Y2K and now it is fifteen years later. Time has a habit of marching on. If you have ever watched a second-hand click its way around the clock face, you know that time is ticking away.
However, the bad news behind us (we are getting older), January 1st is a whole new beginning. It’s a chance to start over or recommit to our diets. We need to grab hold of that commitment once again.
As you know, I don’t like to make New Year’s resolutions. I never keep them. I don’t know anybody who does. It’s like a rule. It just will get broken. There are always detours and obstacles that thwart the best of plans. I have some travel obstacles ahead in the next two weeks. That makes for a weight loss challenge.
As we have emphasized repeatedly in this blog, there are always ways of escape. Every temptation is an opportunity to see God’s grace in action.
My resolution for the New Year (I said I don’t make them) is to stick to THE PLAN and commit to it. I will get more weight off this year.
I push forward, not looking back at failures, but pushing forward to the goal, the prize. Losing the weight and enjoying the journey. If you are overweight, I hope you will join me in this journey through 2015. We will see results because we plan and commit to the plan. Grace is the key. God’s favor is upon us to overcome every obstacle set before us.
