What is the prize you want to win at the end of your dieting race? Is it to be skinny, healthy, or both? “Know you not that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain” (1 Corinthians 9:24).
Is weight loss important to you? Then follow the guidelines of a plan that will help you with that goal in mind. If you are constantly tempted to eat things that are not on the plan, then review the plan and make modifications to it. The adjustments should help your efforts. Don’t add a bag full of cookies to your plan, because you know that will not help you lose weight.
Focus on the prize. Look for thing to help. Find things you like in portions that help you lose weight. If you like fish, eat fish. If you don’t like fish, don’t eat fish. Don’t eat something because it’s good for you or helps you lose weight. Eliminate as many temptations as possible. Have a plan that you like, that you can ultimately live with forever, and that helps you through your weight-loss journey.
