“I’m too overweight.” I’m not sure how to answer this one. You’re too overweight to diet. Hmmm. Isn’t that the whole purpose of dieting, to lose that weight? I’ve seen people over 500 pounds who were dieting. I know many who had to take the surgery path to weight loss because of issues they had with dieting. But not issues that they were overweight, but issues that made them overweight. They are considered morbidly overweight. So you are not too overweight to diet.
But what I really hear, is that I’m too overweight to exercise. Anytime you are very over weight you always need to get your healthcare providers okay to exercise. You may need to get some weight off simply dieting first. Or you may start very slowly, walking a little. You might do some exercises while seated. Check the internet for types of exercises you can do while seated. There is a solution for every excuse. If your excuse is stronger than your desire to overcome, then you will simply be one of the 95% who don’t make it—another negative statistic. But you can make it no matter your weight. And getting it off will help your joints walk you wherever you would like to go. How about walk on the beach, which we are doing this week.
