“It’s Valentine’s day.” That is both a fact, and an excuse. Valentine’s Day is the fourth holiday behind Christmas, Halloween, and Easter for the most candy sold. I think the little candies with the one or two words on them are one of the first candies I remember as a child. They still have them. In fact, the process for cutting the Sweethearts candies was invented in 1847 and the words were stamped starting in 1866. I also like those little red hots with the powerful cinnamon kick that left your tongue red. They came out in the 1930’s. Enough reminiscing. It’s eating all that candy that started me on my love for candy. Now it’s just so much sugar.
I guess what I’m saying is don’t let a special occasion get out of hand. You don’t need any of the candy. Maybe a nice dinner out that is on plan. You don’t need another excuse to go off your weight loss diet. Valentine’s Day says love and that should be the norm for every day. Stay the weight loss road and don’t let today get you sidetracked.
