Excuse – It was in the fridge. Hey, if you find it in the fridge, it’s fair game. If you are on a weight loss diet, you shouldn’t be in the fridge unchaperoned. In addition, everything in the fridge should be on plan. When I go look in the fridge for a snack, I’ll only find veggies—no cheese or deli meats, etc. We don’t normally cook more than a meal’s worth so not a lot of leftovers are in the fridge. This excuse really involves other thinking. It is either emotional eating, cravings, or simple sneak attacks.
Stay out of the fridge. Take a step back and rethink your reason for opening the refrigerator. Then grab a glass of water and go back to what you were doing. If you are not planning snacks into your diet, then you probably should. We have a mid-morning snack usually of fruit. We have a mid-afternoon snack and usually something in the evening. We like a baked apple with cinnamon. We might just have a sugar-free hot chocolate or some veggies. There are plenty of low calories snack options if you need them. Search on that and you will find yourself a snack. Stay out of the fridge.
