Excuse – I don’t get to eat out. If you are overweight, chances are that you love to eat. Going out to restaurants and eating is one of your favorite things. I fall into that category. Eating out is both fun and entertaining. It is also a break from cooking. Some people just cannot give up eating all-you-can-eat pasta, or all-you-can-eat pancakes at IHOP. Some places have great sandwiches that I would have a hard time fixing at home. Eating out is great. But, it is filled with minefields for the weight loss dieter. Do you have to give up eating out completely? No. However, you have to make wise and educated choices. Planning is the key. Know your eating plan and fit the restaurant menu into your plan. There are some places I just don’t go because they are too dangerous for my diet. Buffets and smorgasbords are real hazardous to my diet. Mexican and Italian are very difficult. If we are on a trip, we will always go online and check the menu. If we can find something on their menu we can eat, then we go. If not, we cross that place off the list. You can’t make eating out an excuse.
