Excuse – I always get a diet coke. It’s funny to me when people get a Big Mac, large fries, an apple pie, and a diet coke. Well, at least you are getting the sugar. A typical drink at a fast food restaurant is a 16 oz. coke. It weighs in at 192 calories and 51 grams of sugar. A diet coke has 16 calories and 1 gram of sugar. So choosing a diet coke is better than a regular coke. We aren’t looking at the healthiness of any of these products here, but the point being you can’t overeat in one area and hope to lose by eating less in another area.
I usually get water with my meals. Overeating and thinking by drinking water I’m doing well is a partial lie. You are doing good drinking water, but not well on how much you eat. I think a person could eat whatever they wanted if they ate it in the right portions. It is about the number of calories a day that counts. One slice of pizza would fit into a meal plan. A healthy piece of pizza even better. So don’t try to kid yourself into thinking you are doing well on your diet by drinking a diet coke and eating 1200 calories with it. No excuses.
