Don’t blame your genes. You would be better off blaming your jeans. You have had nothing to do with your genes. You are the product of your parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Whether you are tall or short, big-boned, or thin, guy or gal, that’s all done, behind you. Blaming them won’t help your situation. Adam and Eve were the first to start the blame game, Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, the serpent, well, he had no one to blame. You can’t blame you parents for your inability to stick to a diet. Yes, they may have had some responsibility in your being heavy, but that’s where the blame game stops. No amount of blame can change the fact that it is up to you to change your life for the better. Even though experts say your genes affect up to 80% of your physical attributes, such as weight and height, etc. you still control what you do with your life. Genes have been around as long as human beings have, but the current obesity epidemic is brand-new. Obesity isn’t caused by genes. Yes it might make you more susceptible but it doesn’t make you overeat and get fat. Don’t blame you genes. It just won’t work.
