“Dieting isn’t fun.” It isn’t a party if that’s what you mean. Is everyday eating fun? It could be, depending on how you look at life. People who say dieting isn’t fun will also say work isn’t fun, going to church isn’t fun, going to the relatives house for Thanksgiving isn’t fun. Most of life, to them, isn’t fun. The dictionary says fun is “amusing, entertaining, or enjoyable.” That turns into the idea of amusement fun such as going to Disney World, or going to the beach for vacation. However, the last word—enjoyable can fit most things in life if you see life as enjoyable. You are only going to be here once, and for a relatively short period of time. If you take it all as a pain in the neck, then yes, you won’t find it enjoyable. But if you look at life as a gift and you are here for a purpose and to enjoy your time here, then you will find work, church, and going visiting, and yes, dieting enjoyable. Celebrate each phase of your life. When you go on a diet, receive it with joy and thanksgiving. Through it you will find yourself in a much happier place.
