There are tons of stuff about emotional eating on the internet. They all end with you having to do something to trick yourself into not eating. You will see things like “Identify your triggers.” Then the resulting recommendation is to avoid them. An overweight or obese emotional eater will find these things difficult. They are all band aids and only cover the problem. Emotional eating is part of a larger problem of letting emotions control your life. Emotions become the source of problems not limited to overeating. We can try to curb the emotions from ruining weight loss but it isn’t going to change the problem of emotions.
