More trip observations. I found out that there are restaurants on our trip we have a hard time passing up. We did eat at the Big Texan in Amarillo, TX. Just can’t pass it up but we ate ‘on plan’. We also took family out to an early Mother’s Day at Wabi Sabi which is really good. Can’t pass that up. We ate at Islands which has the best BLT we have ever eaten. And I ate at Roscoe’s Deli that has the best sandwiches (when Charlene had other plans). We met Charlene’s cousins at Panera and then at California Pizza Kitchen and had salads at both locales. Other than that we refrained from eating out. We walked as much as we could. The rest of the time we fixed meals including a family reunion meal around the pool. We enjoyed seeing the whole family together. We only missed seeing two grandkids and one great-grandson. Reunions always mean food but we barbecued food that was on the diet and ate a few things people brought in potluck fashion. All in all it was a good trip. I ended up losing 4.4 pounds which is good for me on such a long trip.
