Thought I would mention a little more about the plan Charlene and I are on. It might be considered a high protein diet, but not just any protein is allowed. We get three servings of protein and breakfast is always an egg. Charlene does swap that out for some 1% cottage cheese about a cup’s worth two-to-three times a week. For lunch and dinner we get protein. We mainly eat chicken, about an 8 ounce portion. It’s the cheapest meat. We don’t buy organic chicken although my daughter would cringe. We substitute Turkey breast (white meat) although it’s more difficult to get. (No deli turkey meat). We can also have ground turkey if it’s close to 99% lean. In other words, ground white turkey breast. I enjoy a chicken sandwich for lunch. I get one slice of diet bread (lite 40 calories). I put some mustard on it and smile while I eat it. As my doctor always says, get plenty of protein.
