How does one “rest” when doing a diet. Jesus said He would give us rest. So how does one rest in dieting. First, dieting is a stress producing endeavor. All the senses rebel when you restrict eating to a certain amount and a certain limited variety of foods—regardless of the hype you will see in the modern diets of eating anything you want but just smaller portions. That doesn’t work for the overweight or the obese. You can’t eat a small slice of pizza. It will just produce cravings your body can’t cope with. So find a diet you can live with and then rest in that. I’ve found that the balanced diet is easiest to live with. Balance the protein, carbs and fats and your body doesn’t rebel so much. When you have a diet that is workable, then rest in it. Don’t fuss over the diet. Maybe you can expand the recipes but don’t stress over the diet. Rest from the stress of dieting.
