Matthew 19:26 says it all: “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!” If you are a believer in Jesus you can read this verse with the absolute confidence that anything is possible—even dieting. Even after a couple of weeks of dieting you can still say this and believe this rather than caving to the cravings. Speaking of cravings, it’s better to prevent them than try to fix them. The body is usually missing something if it craves something. If you have a diet that doesn’t provide the needed nutrients then a craving is likely. The diet plan should have something sweet in order to stave off sugar cravings. Fruit is a good choice. We eat three serving of fruit a day and don’t have sugar cravings. If it’s those cravings that are making you think that dieting is impossible, think again. Ask for grace to overcome those weaknesses. Yes, go to God boldly and ask for grace to help in time of need. Rely on God’s grace minute by minute.
