“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8). That was Paul speaking of his troubles. Does that sound like you at times when the dieting process gets to you? I hope not. As Paul did, he survived and even thrived during these troubling times. Your diet journey is a way to freedom not trouble. If your dieting process has become a nightmare then you haven’t fully seen the process in light of God’s Word yet. It’s like sin under the new covenant. You are dead to sin. Now you just act like sin is not your problem, and you don’t think about it. You don’t worry about it. It’s not on your mind plaguing you every minute of the day. You are not sin-conscious. Same with dieting. It should not be on your mind. Yes you are restricting your calories a little in order to lose weight. You are eating in accordance to a plan in order to accomplish your weight loss goals and increase your health each day. The diet should become second nature, and you should not be diet conscious. Celebrate your freedom as the pounds fall off.
