I ran across this idea in a Creative Loafing paper I found at my local Caribou coffee-house. I’m always finding stuff about eating. In fact, if my antennae are up, I get ideas for a blog all the time. My backups of thoughts are piling up. I’ll get to some of them someday, but will use the hot off the press ideas first.
Another offspring of vegetarianism is “demi-vegetarian. Demi means half, so this is a person who is half-vegetarian. This of course isn’t considered vegetarian at all by the truly passionate vegan. There are many variations of this. Some have cut back on meat 70%. Others don’t eat red meat. Some go vegetarian Monday through Friday. They are “weekly vegetarians.”
In my estimation, if you eat meat at all you, are not a vegetarian in the strictest sense of the word. If you want a little meat in your diet, then this might be something to explore. In a way, I learn toward this as I very seldom eat red meat. Yet I do eat many meals with poultry.
I use a website called http://www.everydiet.org. It lists about every diet out there if you want to get some information on them. There is probably a diet for every person. Some diets are very restrictive and thusly are hard to maintain. As I’ve mentioned before, there is no easy diet, just some which fit your lifestyle better.
If you are like me, you’ve tried dozens of the diets over the years. Zeroing in on one you really like is hard, especially if you don’t really like to diet. If not ,you can try one that says it’s not a diet—but really is. The diet you choose ought to fit you for life. Hey, if you ever reach maintenance, you get to eat a little more.
