Our diet failures begin with thoughts—destructive and diet-damaging thoughts. Often external things prompt these thoughts such as a food commercial on TV or a Burger King Billboard. I just used Burger King as an example as something that might not fit your diet. It could be a myriad of things that prompt thoughts. It does seem a body on a diet will be more sensitive to these external stimulus. It is like after we bought a new Ford Escape we saw lots of them around, many from the same car dealer we used. It’s the same with food. Once you see a food billboard, you see bunches of them. The body starts craving, thirsting, or wanting something that it isn’t getting on the diet. We then begin to let those thoughts roam around in our heads and cause havoc with our thinking. Wrong thinking causes 80% of diet failures. Letting those thoughts stay will soon wear you down and the diet slips away.
