In his book, If My Body Is a Temple, Then I Was a Megachurch, Scott Davis was often asked why he overate. He thought a great deal about it and the only answer he could come up with was that he just loved food and loved to eat. This is where most of us overeaters have problems to one degree or another. We love food. We love pizza, Italian food, Mexican food, steakhouses, BBQ places, dessert, and pastries, just to name a few things. This is hard to overcome. It is a real challenge. I mean it’s a real problem and it’s a big problem. Just the other day I was standing in line at Panera Bread to get a cup of decaf. I had to stand next to the display of all their pastries and desserts. (I think that is on purpose.) It requires a strong reason not to order a cinnamon roll. I remember when Cinnabons first came out. That’s the ultimate in cinnamon rolls. That’s the food that really makes it hard to diet but it’s the food that makes us fat.
