One of the hardest parts of traveling in a car for long distances is boredom. We have Sirius XM so have our station tuned to the Message station which gives us 24 hour Christian music. We have listened to the Elvis station also but prefer the Message. That way we aren’t having trying to find radio stations along the way. Also, Charlene reads out loud as we travel. Time goes by a lot faster – well it seems like it does. And, we have read a lot of interesting books on our travels. On the long stretches of Texas interstate the reading is easy. Can’t read on winding mountain roads although most interstates are not so winding. We read a couple of Anne Hillerman’s books where she picked up from her late father Tony Hillerman. I enjoy the New Mexico – Arizona subjects. She puts in lots of topographical information. She also adds a little mystery to keep it interesting. We have read all Tony Hillerman’s books and recommend them. Someone asked me if we were stopping and smelling the roses along the way. My answer is there are no roses along the way. We do try to see something new if we haven’t already been there.
