The last few Sundays, we have been looking at how God can help us in our dieting. It’s another Sunday so we want to look at one more thing. First, we had to ask. You only get if you ask. Second, we don’t want to ask amiss. Third, asking according to God’s will. Today we are asking in faith.
When we ask God to help us, we are to ask in faith. “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.” (James 1:6)
Faith is what pleases God. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith is placing your unwavering trust in God to do what you ask. It’s not a questions of will He or won’t He. He already said He would give you what you asked.
Faith is giving God permission to do what you ask. In believing Him to help you, you are giving Him permission to help. God isn’t going to help you if you don’t want His help. Faith is saying I want your help and believe I have it because He said I had it.
“What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:24) This is how faith works. Believe you have received when you ask. In other words, when you ask for help on your diet programs, believe the moment you ask that He is helping you.
We don’t see God doing things. We don’t see Him looking through our diet program and making suggestions. We believe because we asked that He is helping. We look for His help. We expect Him to help.
We can ask Him in faith to help us in our weight loss journey, and we have what we asked. That’s the promise of the Word. That’s in red. That is the promise of Jesus on the matter. If you need help, if you want help, ask in faith.
